Catalina Island

Catalina Island looked and felt like it was right out of a movie scene. It's the perfect little island with cute shops and amazing views.

It really is an island in the middle of no where.
The only way to the mainland (aka California)
is by helicopter or boat.

It reminded me so much of St. Thomas but much smaller.

The Island doesn't have a port big enough for
the cruise ships so they dock the boat
in the middle the ocean and shipped us
by little tender boats to the island.
I couldn't stop taking pictures the entire time we were on the island because everything was so beautiful.

Our view from the tender

^The cruise ship looked so huge from the small tender boat

There were hardly any cars on the island, everyone gets around by golf cart. We rented a six seater and drove all the way around the island in an hour!

^Can you see why I couldn't stop talking pictures!

Trayco and I were on the back of the golf cart which faced the opposite way so it felt like we were getting a backwards tour of the island.

Leave it to Trayco to find a basketball court on an island in the middle of no where. Not only did he find a basketball court, but he found someone to unlock it for him, and found a basketball to play with. A bunch of the Edge guys played and a few local kids were so happy to have people to play with.

It was a little depressing heading back
to the boat but we were looking forward
to more free ice cream on the ship!

We love you Catalina Island,
we can't wait to visit you again
when we can stay a while longer!

C R U I S I N

Edge took everyone who resigned to come out this summer on a CRUISE!!!

It was Trayco's and I first time crusin' and we had such a good time!

It was everything that we expected
and at the same time nothing that we expected.

We rented a car with our friend's Devin and Kairleigh and drove to L.A.
We broke the drive up by staying the night in St. George at a hotel on the strip.

^We found it ironic that our rental car was a Ford Edge!

^Our first sight of the boat! I couldn't believe how big it was.
And this is considered a small cruise ship!

^exploring the boat

^Leaving the port

Food was by far the best part of the cruise.
They have a continuous buffet
with all the food you can imagine.

Unlimited soft serve ice cream
was the biggest hit of the trip.

All the workers were bummed when
they found out we didn't drink
because they get major tips
from all the booze cruisers.

Every night you have a nice sit down dinner.
We had never ate such fancy food.

^ I don't even remember what this was. We tried some bizarre food every night.

^Fancy chocolate milk

^There were tons of different activities to do every night
but karaoke became a hit.
A bunch of guys from Edge got up on the last night and sang together.

Every night when you come back to your room there is an awesome towel animal waiting for you. It awesome to see what they can do with towels.

Did I mention how tiny the rooms were?
TINY! I've seen bigger closets!

It was so nice going to sleep every night because
you feel like you are getting
rocked to sleep because
the boat sways back and forth.

We went up to watch the sunset one night from the ship and it was breathtaking.
The sky looked like it was never ending.

Go Cougs

Edge sponsored the BYU-St. Mary's game
so they bought the entire company tickets.
Talk about nose bleeders but we had a great time.

BYU lost really bad but seeing Edge do the half-time show was pretty cool!

Weekending

On Trayco's mission, he reactivated a guy named Robbie
who ended up serving a mission. Robbie came home this week
so we decided to make a weekend out of it and
drive to Vegas to hear him speak in church.
We ended up staying the night in St. George
and went out to do a little bit of exploring.

The best part of the weekend was on Sunday morning, we
had to wake up really early because Robbie was speaking in church at 9am and
we had over an hour drive to get there from St. George.
As we were pulling into Vegas I pulled out my phone
to get directions and realized that it was 7:30am not 8:30am.

We had forgotten about the time change!
We were so tired that we ended up sleeping in the church parking
lot until church started. At least the time change
made it an hour earlier and not an hour later, right?

I somehow spaced getting a picture of Trayco and Robbie together but I love driving into Vegas because Trayco gets so excited! He can't help but talk about memory after memory and I love it!

Harlem Globetrotters

For Trayco's birthday, I got him tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters in the Vivint Arena.
We invited our friends Jade and Courtney
and their son Crew came along for the fun!

It wasn't as great as we thought it would be but we are excited to bring our kids back someday because the show is aimed more towards kids. All in all it was a fun night!

Bishop Szabo

Introducing the newest Bishop of the American Fork 30th Ward!
Dad made us sit in the very back so that there
would be a surprise factor when he was called up by the Stake President.

It will be fun to see how much our family changes in the next 5 years.

As my mission president always said, "Faith it till you make it!"
You are going to great things Bishop Szabo.
I'm proud to have you as a Dad.

Happy Birthday T-Ray!

24 never looked so good!

I'm sure glad you were born.
You are the best thing that ever happened to me.
Let's make this year even better then last year!
