Temple #7

The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple was the 13th temple built in Utah

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple and the
Jordan River Temple were the first pair of
temples to be built in the same city.

Lightning struck the angel Moroni Statue atop the Oquirrh Mountain
on June 13, 2009. The powerful bolt of lightning
blackened Moroni's trumpet, arm, and face.
A replacement statue was installed on August 11, 2019

President Thomas S. Monson dedicated
the Oquirrh Mountain temple on his 82nd birthday.

For the first time in Utah's history,
church was cancelled statewide on August 23, 2009
to allow members to attend the dedication

Temple #6

I have been SO excited to go to the Manti temple!

Trayco was nice enough to let me give him a
tour around Ephraim and show him around campus
and show him where I lived.

It was strange to think that I didn't know
Trayco back when I attended Snow because
I feel like I've know him forever.

We ate at Freds and then went through a session.

It was Trayco's first time going through a live session
and we were asked to be the witness couple!

Afterwards one of the temple coordinators
took us on a little tour and showed us
the different sealing rooms, the baptistry
and the giant spiral stair cases.

The wind was so loud we could hear it while
we were inside the temple and when
we came out, it was snowing hard.

We drove all around the temple to find
a picture of the signand it turns out there isn't one

The Manti Temple was the third temple built in Utah

It was the only temple dedicated
 by President Lorenzo Snow

Twin self-supporting, open centered spiral staircases
wind five stories up each tower of the temple.
The dramatic stairways are considered
an engineering marvel of the Mormon Pioneers

The Manti Temple is one of only seven temples
where patrons progress through four ordinance rooms
before passing into the Celestial Room.

Three of the four rooms
(Creation Room, Garden Room, World Room)
feature beautiful hand-painted murals

Good 'ole Colorado

Over Presidents Day weekend we made the trek to Colorado

We got to see Tegan play in two basketball games
and she played awesome!

It wound't be a weekend with the Ross Family
if we didn't spend most of the time in a gym!

Temple #5

-The Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple was
the ninth temple built in Utah

-No location was specified when the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple was announced. It was announced in General Conference as a temple for "Utah County." The location was revealed six months later at the following Conference, as a former church welfare farm in American Fork.

-When the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple was announced, President Gordon B. Hinckley explained that it would relieve demands placed on the Provo Utah Temple, which
"is operating far beyond its designed capacity."

The Best Calling

We teach the 5 year olds at church and they are a hoot!

They love Brother Ross!
One time he came into sharing time
a couple minutes after me and sat on the row behind me
and all of the kids stood up and left my row to sit by him

This is our class playing CTR Shoots and Ladders

During singing time, which ever class sings
the best their teacher has to wear this hat
for the next song.

The kids think it's hilarious

Temple #4

The Payson temple is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Everything is so open and light.

Trayco said if the Draper temple wasn't our temple,
then he would have wanted to get married in Payson
because he loves the design of the outside and the
details on the inside.

The sun was really bright and we had
a hard time getting a good picture..

The Payson Utah Temple is the 15th temple built in Utah
and the 3rd built in Utah County

The Payson temple has 5 levels

"There is a general significance that we tend to go up
towards heaven as we get to the higher ordinances."
      -Elder Kent F. Richards

Bottom floor: Bapistry
Second floor: Dressing Rooms
Third Floor: Chapel waiting Room
Fourth Floor: Instruction Rooms
Fifth Floor: Sealing Rooms

The theme in the Payson Temple is apple orchards to represent the surrounding area.

The glasswork displays apple blossoms featured in different stages.  On the bottom floor the blossoms are barely buds. As you advance to each level, the apple blossoms grow until they are in full bloom.

"The ordinances on the higher levels of the temple are more special. Ordinances are progressive, so the apple blossoms become a little more lovely and a little more beautiful."
-Elder Kent F. Richards

BYU

For Trayco's birthday I bought him
tickets to the BYU-St. Mary's game.

It was a full house and BYU won!

Jamie's roommate sang the
National Anthem so I snagged a picture
to send to Jamie...

Ice Castles

For Christmas, Michael and Jamie
got us tickets to the Ice Castles in Midway.
It was AWESOME!
I couldn't believe that everything was made
out of ice!

Our favorite part was the big
slide made out of ice and of course, people watching.

Thanks, Jamie and Michael
for such a great Christmas present!!

Trayco's Birthday!

Trayco was at school all day on his birthday
so it was a pretty boring day
but I invited a few of his friends over
and we had cake and ice cream!

Happy Birthday Trayco!
I'm grateful I get to spend your 23rd year with you.
You are everything to me,
and I'm grateful you were born :)
